To replace the batteries in the FoxSonic, FoxRadar (Gen 3), and FoxPressure (Gen 3), you will need 3 standard AA batteries. For FoxRadar (Gen 4) and FoxPressure (Gen 4), please use 3 standard C batteries (“baby cells”).
Step 1:
The cover is secured by six (Gen 3) or two (Gen 4) screws. Loosen them one by one using a suitable Phillips-head screwdriver.
Step 2:
You can now remove the cover. Please make sure the circuit board does not come loose from its mount. You can now remove the old batteries and insert the new ones.
Step 3:
If the circuit board accidentally comes loose from its mount while replacing the batteries, please make sure when reinserting it that the orange LED is facing the FoxHardware power button and that the circuit board is positioned so that the marked notch aligns with the corresponding tab.
Please make sure that the O-ring is properly seated in the designated recess and that the lid is securely fastened to the housing to ensure water resistance.
Step 4:
Finally, tighten the six screws hand-tight. Please tighten the screws in a diagonal pattern (not in a circular pattern)—this will help prevent stress and potential cracks in the lid later on.
To ensure that the battery replacement went smoothly and that the FoxHardware continues to function properly, please run the “Device & Measurement Check” feature in our FoxMobile app once you're finished. If you don't have FoxMobile on hand, you can perform a manual metering instead.
