For battery replacement on FoxHall (used for tanks with liquefied petroleum gas), please continue reading here.
3️⃣ FoxHardware Gen 3
To replace the batteries of the FoxSonic, FoxRadar (Gen 3) and FoxPressure (Gen 3), you will need 3 standard AA batteries.
Step 1:
The lid is secured by six screws. Loosen them one by one using a suitable Phillips screwdriver.
Step 2:
The lid can now be removed. Please make sure that the circuit board does not come loose from its bracket. You can now remove the old batteries and insert the new ones:
Step 3:
If the circuit board has accidentally come loose from its bracket during the battery replacement, please make sure when reinserting it that the orange LED is facing forward towards the power button of the FoxHardware, and that the circuit board sits with the marked recess over the designated ridge:
Please ensure that the sealing ring is properly seated in its designated recess and that the lid sits firmly on the housing to ensure water tightness.
Step 4:
Finally, tighten the six screws hand-tight. Please tighten the screws in a diagonal sequence (i.e. not in order around the cover) – this prevents tension and potential cracks on the lid later on:
4️⃣ FoxHardware Gen 4
For FoxRadar (Gen 4) and FoxPressure (Gen 4), please use 3 standard C batteries ("baby cells").
Step 1:
Loosen the two screws on the top of the FoxHardware using a screwdriver or cordless drill:
Step 2:
Carefully remove the black lid:
Step 3:
Remove the old batteries from their holders and insert the new batteries. Pay attention to the correct polarity.
Step 4: Reattach the lid to the device so that the two screw holes align with the designated threads on the device:
Step 5:
Tighten the screws hand-tight. Please avoid overtightening, as this can cause damage to the device over time due to the resulting tension.
To make sure that the battery replacement went smoothly and that the FoxHardware continues to function properly, please run the "Device & Measurement Check" feature in our FoxMobile app once you are done. If you don't have FoxMobile at hand, a manual metering is also possible as an alternative.
